CB&Q S2 9308         
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad S2 9308 at Denver, Colorado on August 26, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built in March 1944 (c/n 69872) on Order S1889, this was the last of nine Alco S2's allotted to the CB&Q during World War II. It was retired and sold to General Electric as credit on new U23C's, but GE sold all nine S2's to Pecision National Corporation, the Alco's were shipped to Mt. Vernon, Illinois and scrapped (except for 9300).
