CRI&P E7 636 at the Rocket House around 47th Street in Chicago, Illinois on June 13, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built during May 1946 (c/n 3098) on EMD Order E650A. The trailing unit is E3 625. Note the taper on the E3's rear carbody, designed to meet the roofline of the Budd cars of the original Rocky Mountain Rocket.

Tony Fernandez General What are those objects on the roof of the E-7A? Exhaust mufflers? They seem to be in the region of each group of four exhaust stacks from each engine. The object furthest aft might be for the steam generator. 5/14/2015 2:33:13 PM
