CRI&P E8 660
CRI&P E8 660, a little south of 47th Street, Chicago, Illinois, May 1979, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built as UP E8 937 in April 1953 (c/n 17789) on EMD Order 2052A, it was sold to the Rock Island in May 1969, becoming #660. It is seen in a line of dead E-units just south of the Rocket House, having finished its career as suburban service power, and recently replaced by F40PH's bought by the Regional Transit Authority, which took over the Rock Island's suburban operations.
