CB&Q GP7 243         
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad GP7 243 eastbound with the East End Way Freight at Naperville, Illinois on September 6, 1966, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. In addition to a steam generator, this locomotive was equipped with the apparatus necessary to permit it to operate on part of the C&NW to Sterling. The box on the running board ahead of the Engineer contained C&NW-style Automatic Train Control equipment.

Bob Campbell General Assignment sheets show 243 & 244 were equipped with ACS (Automatic Cab Signals). ATC (Automatic Train Control) was applied to NW2's 9208 & 9209 later replaced with 9410A & 9410B (originally a TR-2 Cow & Calf set). 7/3/2021 11:28:45 PM
