Description:
BN SW1 97 at Clyde, Illinois on an unknown day in January 1981, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built in February 1941 as C@&Q SW1 9153 (c/n 1285) on EMD Order E375, most of its CB&Q career was spent as the Aurora (Illinois) depot switcher. It was retired by the BN in August 1983 (although it may have been out of service earlier, note the capped stack), later becoming ILSX 1366. I'm no expert, but it looks to me like an oil leak sidelined this locomotive.
