Number 427 was built in June 1955 as UP E9 954 (c/n 20490) on EMD Order 2070, was leased to Amtrak in May 1972 as AMTK 1427, retired by the UP in November 1973 and sold to Amtrak, becoming 427, retired by Amtrak in 1980, sold to PNC in June 1981 and scrapped. The bridge in the background is ICG's Saint Charles Air Line. |
