MILW F40C 49 |
Description: |
MILW F40C 49 westbound at about Paulina Avenue in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in October 1979, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The bridge was the Chicago Transit Authority (built in 1895 by the Metropolitan West Side Elevated Railroad Company) Northwest branch, removed and all but abandon after the Congress (Eisenhower) Expressway was completed around 1958. This bridge remained because the Milwaukee Road and the C&NW had installed signals on the structure. |

MILW F40C 49 |
Description: |
Milwaukee Road F40C 49 backing into Union Station in Chicago, Illinois on July 27, 1983, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Sure would have been nice for a CTA train to show up on that bridge about now. |
