Description:
BRC GP38-2 493 eastbound at Oak Park, Illinois on April 3, 1975, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. A lake-effect snowstorm blew into Chicago catching almost everyone by surprise. The BRC seemed to get along OK (seen here on the C&NW), but the CTA was nearly paralyzed, and downgraded 4000 series work cars were pressed into plow service.
