It was built in June 1949 (c/n 76778), classed as SA-10 by the Erie (seen under the road number on the side of the cab), classed as MSA-10 by the EL, I suppose accounting for the MU capability of this locomotive. |

It was equipped for MU operation. That's a nice freshly painted N&W boxcar behind, for the record, it's NW 219245. |
