Description:
AT&SF GP30u 2724 at Remington, Indiana on October 6, 1986, photo by Chuck Zeiler. At one time the AT&SF owned the TP&W, and this was the eastern end of that road. There was a TOFC facility located at Remington. Number 2724 was built as number 1224 in June 1962 (c/n 27211) on EMD Order 7622, renumbered to 3224 in mid-1970. It was rebuilt to GP30u 2724 in late 1981, becoming BNSF 2424 in September 1999.
