CGW DS4-4-1000 36
Title:  CGW DS4-4-1000 36
Description:  Chicago Great Western Railway DS4-4-1000 36 at Saint Charles, Illinois on March 13, 1966, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built by Baldwin in July 1949 (c/n 74227). It kept this road number when it became C&NW property in July 1968, and was traded to EMD in January 1969. It is dead in this westbound train, and judging from the condition of the front steps, it is likely enroute for repairs to Oelwein, Iowa, the location of the CGW shops.
