Built in November 1966 as AT&SF SD45 1847 (c/n 32523) on EMD Order 5722, it was renumbered to 5547, later rebuilt to SD45u 5340. It appears that it was wrecked and rebuilt to SD45B 5502, later renumbered and lettered BNSF 7503. At some point during one of the rebuildings it gave up its 20 cylinder 645 prime mover for a 16-645E3, producing 3,000 horsepower. |

It appears that it was wrecked and rebuilt to SD45B 5502 ( 3rd 5502 ), later renumbered and lettered BNSF 7503. At some point during one of the rebuildings it gave up its 20 cylinder 645 prime mover for a 16-645E3, producing 3,000 horsepower. It was retired in November 2000. |
