Number 102 was built in August 1942 as ACL VO1000 609 (c/n 64417), renumbered by ACL in 1955 to 13, sent to EMD between 1959-61 and repowered with a 12-567C prime mover, renumbered by SCL to 102 sometime after the July 1, 1967 merger, retired sometime between 1975-81. |

C&NW VO1000M 1040 at Sterling, Illinois on August 27, 1966, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Generally speaking, the repowered Baldwin switchers that retained the Baldwin hoods were rebuilt by the C&NW, and those with an EMD hood were rebuilt by EMD. This unit was built by Baldwin as a VO-1000 in May 1945 (c/n 72010), rebuilt by EMD in December 1956 and retired in October 1980. |
