Chicao Burlington & Quincy Railroad 665 at Denver, Colorado on October 11, 1964, photographer unknown, duplicate slide by Al Chione, Chuck Zeiler collection, Number 665 was built by Pullman in April 30, 1926 as a 10-2 sleeper and named Point Caswell ( Plan 3584A - 10 Section 2 Drawing Room or 10-2 ), rebuilt October 2, 1941, Plan 4090E - 8 Section 1 Drawing Room 3 Double Bedroom ( 8S-1DR-3DB or 8-1-3 ) and renamed Denver Tower, Aluminum Gray paint applied November 29, 1943, sold to the CB&Q December 31, 1948, sold for scrap to Northwestern Steel and Wire June 22, 1967. Its position at the front of the train likely indicates it was in dormitory service for the train crew. |
