This is MKT's minimalist paint scheme as applied to former ICG 9502, built in February 1970 ( c/n 35667 ). The purple paint is remeniscent of the first Auto-Train. The IC/ICG leased 20 GP38AC's ( #'s 9500-9519 ) under the usual 15 year arrangement. When the lease expired in 1985, most were picked up by the MKT. This particular unit went on to become UP 1984/1785, then AERC 2001. |
