The following is from the book, "CB&Q Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment", by Michael J. Spoor: CB&Q ( 92096 ) was one of 350 FM-14 flat cars constructed at Havelock ( CB&Q shops in Nebraska ) in 1942. Featuring a floor length of 53' 6" and a capacity of 100,000 pounds, these cars were numbered 92000 - 92349. |

Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad Class FM-14A 92742 at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in November 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The following is from the book, "CB&Q Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment", by Michael J. Spoor: Havelock ( CB&Q shops in Nebraska ) built an additional 590 FM-14A, numbered 92400 - 92799 and 93000 - 93189, between 1952 and 1956, which were followed in 1957 by another 200 which were numbwered 93200 - 93399. All of these cars were built to the same design, had the same characteristics, and rode on several types of trucks. The FM-14A numbers 93200 - 93399 were equipped with Barber Stabilized S-2-A trucks. |

Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad Class FM-14B 93745 at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in November 1979, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The following is from the book, "CB&Q Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment", by Michael J. Spoor: The last group of flatcars built by the Burlington were identical to the FM-14A's built in 1957. Classified as FM-14B and numbered 93650 - 93749, these 100 cars were built at Havelock ( CB&Q shops in Nebraska ) in December 1968 and January 1969 and all were painted in the pre-merger cascade green paint scheme. Like the cars built in 1957, the FM-14B's had a floor length of 53' 6", a floor width of 10' 6", and a 50 ton capacity. |
