This locomotive was built in March 1949 (c/n 8491) on EMD Order E1006A, became BN 9920 sometime after March 2, 1970, and was sold for scrap to Naporano Iron & Metal Company, Newark, New Jersey on April 12, 1972. It is seen here leading the westbound California Zephyr. Performing the roll-by inspection is my friend, Chris Burritt, who was employed by the Burlington during the summer of 1966 as relief telegraph operator, substituting for several regular operators as they took their vacation time. |
