Description:
Milwaukee Road F7 83C at Bensenville, Illinois on an unknown day in February 1982, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This A-B-A ( 83C-SE3-83A ) set had been reduced to transfer service and was retired by this photo date. Number 83C was built in July 1950 ( c/n 10318 ) as 72C, renumbered to 83C, retired and sold to the Indiana Transportation Museum in May 1983. Number SE3 was built in November 1951 ( c/n 15226 ) as 118B, rebuilt at West Milwaukee Shops as Slug SE2 in April 1974, renumbered to SE3 a month later. Number 83A was built in January 1951 ( c/n 11803 ) as 110C, renumbered to 83A, sold to the Indiana Transportation Museum in May 1983.
