Title:
TTC LRV 4002
Description:
Toronto Transit Commission LRV 4002 at Toronto, Ontario, Canada on August 8, 1984, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 4002 was built by Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft (German for Swiss Industry Company), or SIG, ordered in August 1973, delivered in 1978. Ten Swiss models were ordered, classed as L-1, but that order was cut down to six, which is why there are no CLRVs numbered 4006-4009. They were designed to replace the aging PCC fleet. Design and manufacturing was transferred to Hawker Siddeley's Canadian Car and Foundry subsidiary in Thunder Bay, Ontario for the remainder of the initial 200 car order, classed L-2, numbered 4010-4199.
