Erie Lackawanna RS3 1056 at about 47th Street in Chicago, Illinois on October 10, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Alco built this RS3 for the DL&W as number 918 in March 1952 (c/n 79674), and it became EL 1056 sometime after the October 17, 1960 merger. It appears to have acquired a modified fuel tank. It was retired in January 1978 and scrapped in October 1981. |
