EL RS3 1040
Title:  EL RS3 1040
Description:  EL RS3 1040 a little south of 47th Street in Chicago, Illinois on April 11, 1965, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built as DL&W 902 in March 1950 (c/n 78077), it became EL 1040 (class MFSA-16-4) sometime after the 1960 merger, became CR 5256 sometime after the 1976 merger, and was rebuilt to a DeWitt Geep 9926 during June 1979.

EL RS3 1047
Title:  EL RS3 1047
Description:  Erie Lackawanna Railroad RS3 1047 at Pullman Junction on the south side of Chicago, Illinois on April 20, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built in April 1951 (c/n 78577) as DL&W 909, it became EL 1047 (class MFSA-16D-4) after the 1960 merger, CR 5263 after the 1976 merger, and was rebuilt to DeWitt Geep 9994 during July 1978. As instructed by the semaphore, they have stopped to pick up orders, which the hogger is in the process of reading as I snap the photo. As far as I can tell, the trailing S2 (307) in not equipped for MU operation, so one assumes it is being delivered by the 1047 to some location where it was needed.

ERIE S1 307
Title:  ERIE S1 307
Description:  Erie Alco S1 307 and EL Alco RS3 1047 stopped and picking up orders at Pullman Junction on the south side of Chicago, Illinois on April 20, 1965, photo by Chuck Zeiler. The S1 was built as Erie 307 in October 1946 (c/n 74962), classed SA-6 on the EL, and became BEDT 25 in 1968. The RS3 was built as DL&W 909 in April 1951 (c/n 78577), renumbered 1047 and classed as MFSA-16D-4 by the EL sometime after the 1960 merger and was retired in October 1976, rebuilt in July 1978 as CR DeWitt Geep 9994 by replacing the Alco Model 244 prime mover with an EMD Model 567 from a scrapped E8. As far as I know, the S1 was not equipped for MU, so this looks like the RS3 is assigned to move the S1, likely the EL needed a switcher somewhere in a hurry.

EL RS3 1051
Title:  EL RS3 1051
Description:  EL RS3 1051, a little south of 47th Street in Chicago, Illinois on January 9, 1966, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built in March 1952 (c/n 79669) as DL&W 913, it became EL 1047 after the 1960 merger, CR 5267 after the 1976 merger, and was rebuilt to DeWitt Geep 9930 in May 1979. This particular RS3 shows carbody filters instead of louvers, an improved design to trap dirt and sand particles from being ingested by the prime mover.

EL RS3 1056
Title:  EL RS3 1056
Description:  Erie Lackawanna RS3 1056 at about 47th Street in Chicago, Illinois on October 10, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Alco built this RS3 for the DL&W as number 918 in March 1952 (c/n 79674), and it became EL 1056 sometime after the October 17, 1960 merger. It appears to have acquired a modified fuel tank. It was retired in January 1978 and scrapped in October 1981.
