CB&Q 4-6-0 Class K-2 659
Title:  CB&Q 4-6-0 Class K-2 659
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-0 Class K-2 659 at Peoria, Illinois on an unknown day in October 1925, photograph by Paul Ellenberger, print by Don Gruber, Chuck Zeiler collection. The CB&Q had ordered 55 4-6-0 locomotives from the newly organized Grant Locomotive Works of Cicero, Illinois in 1893, however, only three were completed before a strike at the Works suspended locomotive production. The CB&Q cancelled the rest of the order and continued the order at the railroad's own shops. Number 659 was completed by the Havelock, Nebraska shops in 1985 as Burlington & Missouri River number 6, renumbered in 1904 to CB&Q 659 and classed as K-2, retired in October 1946.

Title:  CB&Q 4-6-0 Class K-4 723
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-0 Class K-4 723, date, location, and photographer unknown, print by Martin Brady, Chuck Zeiler collection. The selected date (June 1, 1950) based on the CB&Q Locomotive Assignment Sheet of that date. The Sheet shows 723 assigned to the Aurora Division, but the bridge looks like Galesburg. Corrections are welcome. Number 723 was built by the CB&Q's Havelock, Nebraska Shops as Burlington & Missouri River Railroad 3691, renumbered shortly after construction to CB&Q 723 and classed K-4. It was retired and sold for scrap in February 1951.
