Description:
CRI&P C415 423, Blue Island, Illinois, October 1979, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built in October 1966 (c/n 3451-09) it was owned by the UP, which owned C415's 419-424, and leased to the RI. When the RI ceased operations, the UP units were returned and stored, retired by the UP in December 1980, and this unit was sold to Brandon Corporation June 23, 1981 as their 423. It was repainted in Brandon Sapphire Blue in August 1981, stored at Manhattan, Kansas April 1982. In August 1987 it was painted gray and lettered for Rail Car America, later repainted blue and lettered for Brandon Rail. By late 1999 it was sold to Buffalo Southern (BSOR) and was still in service in 2006.

CRI&P NW2 4905
Description:
CRI&P NW2 4905, Blue Island, Illinois, October 1979, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Number 4905 was built in March 1949 as P&LE 8741 (c/n 7419) on EMD Order E1056, becoming RI 4905 sometime in the early 1970's, then moving on to Kuhlman Bulk Terminals becoming #1. The two C415's, built in 1966, also moved on to other careers, becoming Brandon 423 and 421.
